Michigan Ross Part Time MBA Application Part 2:

Pick one thing from your resume and tell us more. (100 words)

In the MBA application resume, you need to mention all of your leadership experience, especially highlighting what you have accomplished in those projects. In this essay, the best approach is to select you biggest accomplishment (preferably in professional career as you will be writing about your personal or extracurricular stuffs in the essay #1) as a leader and narrate the story to the Ross Admissions team. In just 100 words, you don’t have too much space. So, be very selective in choice of words so as to cover your main challenges and key actions you took to overcome those obstacles.

Michigan Ross Part Time MBA Application Part 3:

What is your short-term goal? (25 words) Why is this the right short-term career goal for you? (150 words)

This is a straight forward goal essay. You need to describe your short term goal. That’s the easy part. The crucial part is to show admissions committee why this goal makes sense for you. For applicants who aren’t career changers, this part may not be tough. But for people who aspire to move to consulting or investment banking post MBA from different sectors, this will be the focus of the question. You need to explain the logic of making such a career move at this juncture of your life. The logic should be bulletproof; otherwise, the application may fall apart.

Please keep in mind that Ross focuses a lot on team work. In earlier admissions seasons, Ross used to mention in the goal essay question that – “Ross is a place where people from all backgrounds with different career goals can thrive”. Hence, just mention in less than 20 words, why you need a diverse community for your transformational MBA journey. Demonstrate how interacting with peers from all across the world will sharpen your ideas, widen your network and proffer you various skills such as cross cultural abilities or persuasive communication skills that are necessary for your future career.
